Motto’s back-to-school giveaway
As one of the most unique Australian franchises, we’re proud of our innovative approaches to food and marketing. This time, the focus was on the littlest members of their fanbase, with schoolkids being encouraged to bring their families in for a meal and an exciting free gift just for them.
Motto’s back-to-school campaign celebrated its youngest diners heading back to their classrooms with the offer of a FREE green or pink bento lunchbox with the purchase of any kids’ meal and juice or water. The offer was available for dine-in or pickup at any Motto restaurant while stocks lasted throughout January 2022.
Not only did the kids just adore their bento boxes, but it was a fantastic way to reach out to our customers, and bring new customers in through our restaurant doors across both New South Wales and Queensland.
How a back-to-school campaign can benefit Australian franchises
Back-to-school campaigns are an excellent way to target the youngest members of the household and create a fun family dining experience. And as the parents among us are all too aware – anything that can encourage more joyful family moments and fewer dinner table dramas will be something that the grown-ups will certainly want to repeat time and time again.
While some Australian franchises may choose to offer unhealthy treats or toys in their kids’ deals, Motto prides itself on its waste-free kids’ campaign in which the free product is both practical and reusable.
The bento box giveaway was designed to increase brand awareness and restaurant visitation, as well as introduce Motto Motto’s delicious kids’ menu to some brand-new customers with the potential of becoming long-term regulars.
Spreading the love
In addition to this great marketing campaign, Motto also provided additional support to its valued franchisees by offering the bento boxes (valued at A$14.95) at no cost to them. This of course meant an end result of more money in the pockets of our fantastic owner-operators!
Three thousand lunch boxes were distributed to Motto restaurants across NSW and Queensland from January 18, 2022 and – due to the incredible popularity of the campaign – saw stock run out even before the end date of the promotion. What a win and an innovation that other Australian franchises should follow!
